Developing a Dehlà Got’įne Constitution

In addition to the self-government agreement itself, the Dehlà Got’įne Government must also have a constitution which describes principles it must follow.

The Constitution will be the highest law of the Dehlà Got’įne Government. It will describe how the government is structured and the rules it must follow. The constitution will be developed and approved by the members of the Behzi Adha" First Nation (BAFN) and the Ayoni Keh Land Corporation only. The other governments are not involved.

The constitution will have to be consistent with our land claim and the self-government agreement. It also cannot go against our Treaty or the Constitution of Canada.
