Three-party Working Groups

Some of the work that is needed to develop the self-government agreement is very technical and requires additional work outside the Main Table negotiations. This work is done by three-party working groups that meet between negotiations session to make progress on technical matters and report back to the Main Table. These working groups deal with what they can and make recommendations to the Main Table. If a working group cannot resolve an issue, they bring it back to the Main Table for a decision or further direction.

Right now, there three-party working groups in five areas:

  • Legal/technical drafting
  • Financing of self-government
  • Communications

Relevant information coming out of these working groups will be posted to this website over time.
